Product Description

This fictional dialogue is about Sextus and Decimus, who converse about the Roman poet D. Iunius Iuvenalis, who left five books of satires to posterity. In these he wrote about the various vices of people, but above all about the corrupt life of the Romans. The poet observed very attentively the life of his fellow citizens and had to conclude: "Difficile est saturam non scribere." (cf. I, 1, 30.) Juvenalis would today call Germany "Britannica Germania" because the media and politicians use an English word in every sentence when they talk about the Corona crisis. The experts are of the opinion that the verses of Iuvenalis are not easy to translate. Therefore, Sextus and Decimus have deliberately quoted the verses that are well understandable for students and pupils.
