Born near Ratibor in Upper Silesia, not far from the poet Eichendorff's castle Lubowitz. The briefly happy family with father, mother, sister and me found an abrupt end from the beginning of war in 1939: father a soldier, still fallen in 1945. For the remaining family followed from the end of 1944 about 14 years of expulsion and flight. For me later as a mathematician stays in various countries and continents. From 1972 ordinary professor in Bochum with a large family and many grandchildren. The short shake verses are my notes on the zeitgeist. They emerged over many years, most of those presented here however following the days in the year 2017-2018. The four-line form per entry is suitable for a sharp-concise speaking between seriousness and non-seriousness.
