Nicholas Rescher is one of the most prominent philosophers of the present. The present book represents the first systematic commentary on Rescher's monograph "On Explaining Existence" (2013), in which Rescher attempts to give an answer to the cosmological ultimate justification question. The Leibniz question about the ultimate Why is the most difficult question of philosophy altogether. In contrast to the author of the present work, who in Volume 1 of his Collected Works approached the question with the help of a strictly materialistic approach, Rescher takes an idealistic path. It turns out, however, that Rescher's book contains a very large number of errors and misconceptions.
